The meso-mediterranean climate of this part of SW Australia, where Cephalotus grow, is characterised by cool, wet winters - where frosts, if they occur, are light and short - followed by warm to hot, dry summers where the temperature rarely exceeds 25ūC. Even then misty days and drizzle, as well as nocturnal dew, give the atmosphere humidity which favours the plants.
Rainfall in the area varies from 150mm per month, in winter, to around 25mm per month in summer.
